Giuseppe Nova's permormances have been hailed in international publications, The Washington Post defined his performance in the American capital as "charming", other critics have commented on his "enlightened performance... an extraordinary musical sense" (Il Giornale), or "a magic performance of virtuosity" (Gazzetta del Sud) and again "musical art at its perfection" (Nice Matin), "a genius mode dialogue" (Nürtinger Zeitung) and "in a class of his own" (Secolo XIX), "simply divine.." Described as one of the most outstanding Italian flautists of his generation, after graduating in Italy and France (Conservatory in Turin and Conservatoire Supérieur de Lyon with Maxence Larrieu), he made his debut in 1982 as a soloist with the RAI Symphony Orchestra. This marked the beginning of a brilliant career which has led him to perform in the most important concert halls in Europe, the United States, Japan, China. He has worked with such artists as Maxence Larrieu, Bruno Canino, Luciana Serra, Alain Marion, Raymond Guiot, Catrin Finch, I Fiati di Parma, as well as several Italian Orchestras. He premiered works by Solbiati, Baratello, Taglietti, Esposito, Molino, Togawa, Vianello, Melozzi, Froom. As one of the most eagerly sought-after teachers, he taught at the Conservatory, at the Accademia Superiore in Pescara, at the Scuola di Alto Perferzionamento in Saluzzo, the Rome Arts Academy and has given master-classes worldwide. He was Assistant at the Geneva Conservatory and at the Koblenz Musiktage, he worked alongside Jean-Pierre Rampal. He served as Juror in international flute competitions in Italy, France and Japan. Soloist with Praga Virtuosi, Camerata Bohemica, Chesapeake Orchestra, I Filarmonici di Torino, Thailand Symphony Orchestra, his recordings were broadcasted by Radio3, Rai1, RAI Sat, Washington PT, China Radio International, RTSI. He now teaches at the Aosta Music Foundation. The Japanese magazines The Flute devoted its Special Interview to him and the Italian magazine FaLaUt has also devoted an issue with interview and CD to Giuseppe Nova. Recently in the book Il Flauto Traverso (Italia, EDT 2003), he was included among the italian "soloists with an international career.. outclassed at the end of the century..". Giuseppe Nova recorded extensively, in 2006 started the collaboration with well-known Japanese label Camerata Tokyo with Mozart's early Sonatas CD, recorded with claviorganist Claudio Brizi. |
